Crear periódicos y folletos fácilmente con ReadWriteThink



Desde siempre, animar a los alumnos a realizar portadas de periódicos o folletos nos ha parecido una forma creativa de practicar la escritura en cualquier idioma.

Con las herramientas 2.0 esta tarea se hace más fácil y atrayente para los estudiantes y profesores.

En la página de ReadWriteThink podemos encontrar multitud de recursos y herramientas, entre ellos Printing Press. Esta herramienta nos ayuda a crear y compartir las publicaciones de nuestros alumnos de forma ágil y, aunque está en inglés, es muy sencilla de usar.

Qué podemos hacer
  • 3 tipos de documentos: portadas de periódico, folletos, flyers publicitarios
  • Incluir imágenes y texto
  • Compartir via mail en formato Pdf
  • Compartir via mail en formato rwt para que otro compañero pueda continuar la labor
  • Imprimir
  • Guardar y descargar borrador para continuar más tarde

Playing flashcards games in class with Quizlet Live


Trying to make learning more collaborative and funnier, the team of Quizlet offers now Quizlet Live.

Quizlet is the tool that allows you to create sets of flashcards with the words of your choice, or just use sets created by other teachers. See more here




How to play Quizlet Live
  • 1. Enter Quizlet.com and choose a set of flashcards
  • 2. Click on "Live"
  • 3. Click on "Create a game"
  • 4. Share with your students the code you get
  • 5. Tell your students to enter "quizlet.com/live" and write the code given
  • 6. Students write a name/word to be identified in the group
  • 7. You need a minimum of 6 students. Quizlet will arrange them in groups of 3/4
  • 8. Teacher starts the game. If you want, you can reshuffle the teams.
  • 9. Questions and possible answers appear on students' screens.
  • 10. The race begins. Students get points by being the first in giving the correct answer.

At the end of the game, the teacher gets information about what students need to revise and what they already know.

Quizlet - Create your own sets of flashcards

Here it is
2.0 tools flashcards

a new way of learning vocabulary and many other things.

With this tool you can create sets of flashcards with words from your own list. You can also use sets created by other teachers.

When creating your flashcards, you can type on Quizlet or simply upload that list you've kept for ages on your computer.

What teachers can do:
  • Write in different languages.
  • Use images as a definition to a word.
  • Print lists of vocabulary
  • Print tests with varied types os questions.
  • You can create groups/classes and organise a competition.
What students can do: choose among 3 Study modes and 2 games.
  • Study
    • Speller: Listen to a word and copy it down.
    • Learn: Listen / Read the definition and write the term to study.
    • Test: Test yourself by choosing from different types of questions
  • Play Games
    • Scatter: Match terms and definitionsto make them disappear.
    • Space Race: Write quickly the term to study as the definition appears on your screen.
A very useful tool for teachers and appealing for students. Time to try it!!

Fake text generator to practise writing

There's a new tool for the English class to easily create fake text messages simulating a mobile phone, ifaketext.

No registration is needed, just click on the link and start writing your text. Once you've finished, you can save and share the screenshot generated.

Again, another easy to use tool to let our students practise writing. You can use it to:
  • write short texts on a topic
  • write short dialogues; giving directions, situations in a restaurant or shop, short answers....
  • revise and illustrate grammar expressions
